Dear Parishioners, I would like to start out this week by thanking everyone for their patience the past few months with our priest staffing situation. I am thankful that we have the missionaries to help us fill the gap when we don’t have enough local vocations to staff our parishes. Fr. Antony picked up where Fr. Benedict left off. However, Fr. Antony will only be with us a few more weeks and then it is off to his new assignment. As of the time I am writing this, it looks like things are falling into place for bringing another priest over from India from the order. Any prayers you can offer that things will go smoothly with immigration will be appreciated. I will keep you updated on this as I find out more concrete arrival dates. As I look around at the other dioceses in the U.S. and talk to brother priests in different areas, this is a similar situation that they are also having to deal with. The priest shortage is upon us now and there will be fewer priests available to staff our parishes. Please don’t stop praying for vocations as this need will never stop. Just a reminder that this coming Tuesday is a Holy Day of Obligation, the Solemnity of the Assumption. Please check today’s bulletin for more information and Mass times on Monday evening and Tuesday. Finally, especially for parents who have children needing to make their sacraments, please check with our Faith Formation office or our website to register your children for the upcoming classes that begin in September. Thanks for reading! Fr. Mark
