Dear Parishioners, Are you ready for Christmas? As we reach this 4th and final Sunday of Advent, we are reminded that our celebration of Christmas is just days away. Most of us know that these final days of Advent are often the most hectic as we finish our shopping, welcome family, and make all the final preparations for the celebration of Christmas next weekend. But are we going to leave some time for quiet reflection on the birth of God’s son? This is one of those years that we have an unusual schedule, especially with Christmas falling on a Saturday. Also, this upcoming Christmas season is one of the shortest number of days due to the calendar. What is different about this year? The very next day after Christmas is a Sunday and the feast of the Holy Family. Normally we would have several days or even a week in between, but not this year. This means that we will only have four Christmas Masses in our schedule: Three on Christmas Eve and one in the morning of Christmas day. Please take special note: THERE WILL NOT BE AN EVENING MASS ON CHRISTMAS DAY! On Sunday, December 26, we will have our normal Sunday schedule for the weekend, with four masses on Sunday. Also please note, that in order to fulfill your Mass obligations, you will need to go to one of the Christmas masses and then return for one of the Masses on Sunday. Also, as a reminder, please come early for our Christmas Eve Masses. Times for when the doors open are in the Calendar of Events section of this bulletin. Especially come early if you need a socially distanced seat. We will only offer the three sections that are already in the sanctuary now. The rest of the seating will be general seating. We expect large crowds this year and will fill up the church and overflow in Marian Hall. We are not using the Stanley Centre this year. In these final days of Advent, prepare your hearts for the birth of Jesus! Thanks for reading! Fr. Mark
