I’m always amazed how quickly Advent slips by us. Already it is the Second Sunday of Advent. It’s a time of preparation, but somehow, we never adequately feel prepared for Christmas. What are you doing to prepare yourself and your hearts for the birth of Christ? Is there anything that is distracting you from the gift of love that God has given to us?
This week the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, the Patronal Feast Day of the United States on December 8. Since it is our Patronal Feast Day, it is always a Holy Day of Obligation. Please join us for one of the Masses on Wednesday evening or sometime on Thursday to celebrate this feast and pray for our Lady’s intercession and blessing upon all people of the United States.
Mark your calendars for our Advent Penance Service at St. Catherine’s next Wednesday, December 14 at 6:30 pm. A number of priests will be available to hear your confession. If this day doesn’t work, please check the schedule in the bulletin for additional penance services that will be held in the other area parishes. Please remember that we also have 2‐3 priests available for confessions each Saturday morning from 11:00 am ‐ 12:00 pm to hear your confession.
