Now that the dust has settled on all our clergy moves since the month of March, it means that we have two priests (and two permanent deacons) to care for St. Catherine. Fr. Jacob and I have been having some discussions on how to divide things up. Since this is his first time in the States, he has been working on getting a Michigan driver’s license so that it will be easier for him to get around. I have been slowly showing him around the area so that he becomes familiar with Portage and the surrounding communities. Otherwise, we are making sure he has transportation in this interim time to get where he needs to go.
Fr. Jacob is the priest who, along with our deacons, will be visiting the area nursing homes and care facilities. If you know of someone in our parish area who is not on our list of places to visit, or has become homebound, please call the office and we will arrange visitation. Father will also have office hours if someone needs to have an appointment. I will be continuing with all the many things I take care of each day as pastor as well as with my work at the diocese and the Mission Office.
