Dear Parishioners, As we look ahead to this next week, we begin the month of November on Tuesday. In this first week of November, we celebrate several days of special feasts in the Church year. First, November 1 is the Feast of All Saints and a Holy Day of Obligation. We will have a Vigil Mass on Halloween evening and two Masses on November 1. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate with the saints and continue allowing them to inspire us to live a good and holy life. For the Mass times on this Holy Day, please check today’s bulletin, and hopefully you will be able to join us for one of our Masses for this special day. As many of you have heard me talk and teach about the lives of the saints, one can see why this is my favorite holy day of the year! Our annual Remembrance Service will be on the following day, Wednesday, November 2, or All Souls Day. This tradition of remembering the dead began in the earliest days of the Church. It gives all of us a chance to remember the loved ones and friends who are no longer with us, especially those who died in the past year. As it has been our custom for many years, we will have the Remembrance book in the Narthex so that you can write down the names of those you would like remembered in prayer throughout the month of November. May their souls, and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. Thanks for reading! Fr. Mark
