It’s that time of year where we pause and count our blessings. Normally, life is so busy that it’s sometimes hard for us to see God at work. Yet, God is there for us each day, guiding us and helping us, showing us His graces and His blessings. As many of us gather with family and friends during this coming week to celebrate Thanksgiving, let us notice and acknowledge how we have been blessed.
A special thank you to all those who contributed to the annual St. Vincent de Paul Thanksgiving food drive. This is certainly one way that we can share our blessings with those who might be struggling this year.
This weekend also brings a close to the church year with the celebration of Christ the King. During His passion, when Jesus is brought before Pilate, He is asked if His Kingdom is of this world. This celebration helps us to remember that we always need to keep our eyes focused on the promise of Heaven, for the Kingdom that Jesus showed us was not an earthly Kingdom, but what God always intended for us. Happy Thanksgiving! Fr. Mark
