I think we can all agree that schoolteachers deserve a few extra blessings from our Heavenly Father! Chuck and Christine Swanson are retired schoolteachers with a combined 58 years of teaching. The Swanson's continue to carry out the Lord's work by being very active here at our parish. Chuck and Christine just celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary in June, and if their smiles seem larger than usual, it's because they are new grandparents to 18 month old Adam! Chuck grew up in Coloma where he attended Catholic grade school and high school, before serving our country in Vietnam. Chris grew up in Sheboygan, WI and then attended Western Michigan and IU South Bend. Chris was called to Catholicism when the couple married in 1978 at St. Thomas More in Kalamazoo. The Swanson's enjoy traveling both within the U.S. and abroad, having visited England, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Wales. Chris and Chuck have been very generous with their time and talents, volunteering with Vacation Bible School, Bible Studies, Children's Faith Formation, and being Eucharistic Ministers both at Mass and for hospital visits. Let us all say a prayer of gratitude for teachers, both active and retired, and let us be so thankful that the Swanson's are members of our parish. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Psalms 32:8
