Our parish has been anxiously awaiting the return of altar servers for what feels like forever! So what better way to celebrate the return of our servers, then by featuring a parish family that has two children both very involved in this ministry! Meet the Homan Family, Eric, Elizabeth, Keegan (15), Kelton (10), Silas (7), and Asher (4). The Homan's have lived in Portage for 15 years and their children attend Portage Central and 12th Street Elementary. All the boys love video games and reading, Keegan has a part time job after school, Kelton loves to code and has started to play flag football, Silas and Asher love to play soccer. The whole family enjoys getting outside as much as they can and enjoying each other's company with love and laughter! For over a decade the Homan's have been giving back to our parish by dedicating their time to an array of different ministries. Eric is a Catechist for Kelton's 5th grade class. Elizabeth is a Cantor, a choir member, and is involved in our Women of the Word ministry and our Health Committee. Keegan is an altar server and assists his Dad in teaching faith formation. Kelton attends faith formation classes and is a first-time altar server. Silas also attends faith formation classes in preparation for his first communion. The Homans are extremely passionate about attending and being active in a “parish that serves the community”. Thank you to the Homan Family for helping the parish to grow by being so dedicated, we are blessed to have each of you!
