Fr. Bill has an opportunity to live near his family in Wisconsin and has decided that this is the perfect time to accept that invitation. Fr. Bill’s last day with us is Sunday, March 19. Fr. Bill will return for our Priest Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, June 11. Please join us then to wish him well in person!
Please join us for our annual Mary Garden Spring Clean Up. It starts at 9:00 am and we will meet in the front Mary Garden area. If you have any questions, please contact Gary Townsend at (269) 341-1205.
How we look at people and situations is important. Do we judge a situation or a person by appearances, according to the way society says we should? Or are we able to see with our heart’s eyes, as God tells us we should?
In case you missed our announcement last weekend, due to health reasons, Fr. Bill Jacobs will conclude his time of service with our parish on March 19. We thank him for his priestly service to all of us here at St. Catherine and wish him luck in Wisconsin.
Through our Baptism we also received the “water of faith”, the initiation into our Christian way of life. But just as all things need water to live, we continually need to be refreshed in these “waters of faith”.
If you missed our parish penance service last week, just remember that we have individual confessions each Saturday from 11:00 am-12:00 pm with several of our priests available to hear your confession.
Priests in the United States will begin using a new translation of prayers for the celebration of confession. May these new translations help us to experience the love which God has for us through our reception of the Sacrament of Penance.
Are we truly listening with the desire to serve God, or are we trying to follow our own agenda? How can we use this season to do more of the former, and less of the latter?
Please check out our 2023 Lenten schedule for additional things we will be doing at the parish (Lenten talks, Stations of the Cross, etc.) during these weeks of Lent.
Please consider donating empty plastic Easter Eggs, or donated filled ones. We also need volunteers to help us fill the over 1000 estimated eggs we need for this hunt. Contact faith@stcatherinesiena.org for more information.
God is always waiting to pour out His Grace on us, but it is up to us to ask with sincere hearts. May we use this Lenten season to honestly look at our lives to see where we have failed and ask God’s forgiveness and help.
