Preparing for our Palm Sunday, Holy Week, and Easter liturgies is a huge task, and we could not do it without our many Arts & Environment Team members. Thank you to everyone who assisted us in preparing this year’s palms for distribution (Kathy Bielecki, Rina Carpenter, Carol D’Cruz, Carol Knapper, Karen Kolbasa, Sue Lewis, Chris Woleben), and decorating the Church buildings for Holy Week and Easter (Lukas Bennett, Karen Bennett, Rina Carpenter, Carol D’Cruz, Carol Knapper, Karen Kolbasa, Toni & Wayne Leblong, Sue Lewis, Carrie Prendergast, Dorothy Schultz). A very special thanks goes to Arlene Pyke for her fabulous job recruiting volunteers and organizing our Arts & Environment Team, as well as her on-going work maintaining the decorations and caring for our plants and flowers in and around the Church. If you would like to help with the Arts & Environment Team at the parish, please reach out to Marianne Verner at [email protected]. Did you miss grabbing a palm on Palm Sunday? Not to worry, we still have plenty! Contact our Front Office (327-5165 or [email protected]) and let us know how many you need!
Niki Hall has been volunteering in the church office for several years. When the office supervisor position was vacant, she willingly filled the role for several months. She regularly comes in and helps where needed in the office. She is a joy to have around and extremely efficient! Over spring break Lauren Rolfsen volunteered in the church office. Lauren is a National Honor Society student, and they are required to do volunteer service work. She called to see if we had a need and we said YES! Thank you, Lauren, for your hard work! If you are interested in volunteering in the church office, please contact Marianne Verner ([email protected] or 978-2340). We love our office volunteers!
On Saturday, April 10th, we had our Spring Grounds cleanup. Gary Townsend volunteered his time to oversee and help with the cleanup. Nancy Dudasko and Angelica Murray were here all morning tending to God’s gardens. Angelica just entered into the church at the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday. We welcome her with open arms and hearts. She has volunteered to sponsor a section of the front gardens this summer. We also had four students from Hackett Catholic Prep volunteer their time to help clean up our church grounds (Caleb Bildner, Andrew & Jack Finley, Lydia Harris). Thank you all for helping us keep our parish grounds looking fantastic! We will be having another cleanup day on Saturday, May 15th, from 9 am until 12 pm. If you would like to volunteer your time and help us keep our church grounds looking beautiful, please plan to come on May 15th. Bring your rake, shovel, garden gloves, trimmers etc. and some ice-cold water to drink. Please reach out to Marianne ([email protected] or 978-2340) with any questions. If you are interested in sponsoring an area of the church grounds to weed this spring/summer, please call the Front Office at 327-5165 or contact Marianne Verner directly.
Thank you, Volunteers! We are so grateful for everything you do for us!
