Dear Parishioners,
It seems like we finally have some momentum moving forward, in rebuilding the buildings that were damaged in the tornado. For those of you who have also experienced storm damage in the past few months, I think you are having similar experiences. It takes a lot of time to plan and look at what we need as we go forward with rebuilding our campus. As with any incident like a tornado, one always finds a little more damage here and there than what was originally found. Now, we just need good weather so that there are few delays in the rebuilding process.
This weekend we will have a second collection and a special mission appeal. Fr. Joseph, who has recently joined our parish staff, spent many years of his priestly ministry in Africa. As you have heard me say several times, he is a member of the Missionaries of St. Francis DeSales. This order has provided us with a number of priests to help in our diocese, several who have served here in the past at St. Catherine. As the Diocesan Director of the Propagation of the Faith, which oversees such opportunities to support the foreign missions, I urge you to prayerfully consider supporting the Church and its missionary efforts around the world.
Don’t forget about marking your calendars for the upcoming Parish Picnic! Please join us after the 11:00 am Mass on Sunday, September 8th. Hope to see you there!
Thanks for reading!
Fr. Mark
