Dear Parishioners, Unlike the season of Lent, Advent goes much quicker! Another week has gone by and we are already lighting the second candle on the Advent wreath. Since Advent is such a short season, and we already have our eyes on the celebration of Christmas, what have we done, or what do we need to do to prepare ourselves? Have you found some quiet time, in the midst of this busy season of preparation, for prayer or reflection? Have you made a commitment to go to confession and prepare yourself for the celebration of Christmas? There is time, but it grows shorter with each passing day. Make your hearts ready for the birth of Christ! Just a month ago, we had a holy day that fell on a Monday. But this coming week, the Holy Day celebration of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is indeed a day of obligation. We will have a Vigil Mass this coming Tuesday evening, December 7, and two Masses on the Solemnity of December 8. Please join us for this special feast day in the church year. With two weeks to go to the celebration of Christmas, I know families are already starting to plan what time they are going to Mass. Please see the preview of the Christmas Mass schedule in today’s bulletin. I will explain the unusual situation we are in this Christmas with Christmas day falling on a Saturday in next week’s bulletin column. Thanks for reading! Fr. Mark
