Dear Parishioners, It might sound strange to say, but we are near the half-way point of our Jubilee Year of the Holy Spirit. As we continue to pray the Jubilee prayer after Communion at our Sunday Masses, and some are praying this prayer daily, we ask the Holy Spirit to guide and help our parish and our diocese as we go forward. Everyone knows that things are much different now than just two short years ago.
Our parish is different, our programs are different, we need more vocations to the priesthood, and our way of life is different. As we continue to make changes to adapt to a changing world, what better way to celebrate the 50th Jubilee of the Diocese than to pray for guidance. As we all know, sometimes our path in life is not clear. But prayer always helps to bring clarity to our world and how we are to go forward. Several weeks ago, the Holy Father named a new Bishop for the Diocese of Gaylord. They have been without a Bishop for a period of time after their Bishop was moved to another diocese. I believe many of you know that Bishop Bradley’s time as our ordinary is also drawing to a close. It’s been a year and a few months since he submitted the mandatory letter that all Bishops need to submit to the Holy Father when they reach their 75th birthday. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide this process as well as we wait to see who will guide our Diocese in the future. Thanks for reading! Fr. Mark
