Dear Parishioners, Happy Feast of the Epiphany! As we celebrate one of the most popular celebrations of the Christmas season, the journey of the Three Kings to the baby Jesus, it is another occasion for us to ponder the wisdom that we find in Scripture. These Three Kings knew that something special and extraordinary had happened. Of course, they could have ignored all the signs that they observed. It would have been easy for them to be skeptical. Yet God opened their hearts to His Wisdom. This was not an ordinary occurrence, but a once in a lifetime, once in history type of event. God was leading them to something special, something extraordinary. When they discovered the newborn King, they were not disappointed, and their hearts were filled with joy. As we find ourselves at the conclusion of the Christmas Season (tomorrow’s feast of the Baptism of the Lord is the final day), may we find that our hearts are filled with this same joy that only the Lord can bring to us. May we not doubt that the Lord is there for us in an ordinary day as well as those extraordinary times of life. May we be filled with the same wisdom that filled the hearts of these Three Kings. As we look forward to what is awaiting us in 2023, may we accept the Wisdom of God and what God is calling us to in the New Year. Thanks for reading! Fr. Mark
