Dear Parishioners, Waiting! It’s hard to wait! Just in case you think that we somehow jumped a few months ahead to the Season of Advent, I am actually referring to all the waiting time that happens in construction projects. For the past few weeks, my staff and I have been meeting with our insurance company and the disaster recovery team. The disaster team has actually shifted gears and we are now in construction mode. Several weeks ago, we looked at the rectory and what needs to be done in order to make it a residence for priests again. There are some things that we know we need to do with the outside of the rectory: a new roof and new siding. Inside we will need new walls, floors, and ceilings in the areas where the roof was ripped off by the tornado and where there was water damage from the rain that came in after the tornado. The fact that the rectory garage was destroyed gives us a possible opportunity to do something different with the garage. As all of this comes into focus, and plans are finalized, I will keep you updated on where we are going with these things. This third weekend of June is also Father’s Day! Happy Father’s Day to all of our dads and granddads. May the Lord bless you as you care for your families! With this weekend, we are now only a month away from the start of Vacation Bible School. Let’s all start praying for good weather and that it’s not too hot during VBS week. Thanks for reading! Fr. Mark
