Dear Parishioners, Usually when we talk about the transition when one parochial vicar moves to another parish and another one transfers to our St. Catherine Parish, we are getting the rectory ready for a new priest. This would leave packing boxes around the rectory to stumble over. As we all know, that’s not the case this year. Due to the tornado, Fr. Jacob and I had to gather what we could after the tornado went through. The rectory is still under repair and rebuilding for the next few months. As we say farewell to Fr. Jacob next weekend and welcome Fr. Joseph in July, this will be a little different time of transition than what we have experienced before. Fr. Joseph and I will continue to live offsite until we can move back into the rectory. Please keep praying that the building and restoration process goes well so we can be back on the church campus sooner rather than later. Fr. Jacob is being assigned to the Douglas /South Haven Collaborative and serving three parish communities (and he will be living in South Haven). Fr. Joseph has been serving at the Decatur/Dowagiac Collaborative of parishes. We continue to be thankful to the Missionaries of St. Francis DeSales for providing priests to help us staff our parish. Both Fr. Jacob and Fr. Joseph start their new assignments on July 1st. We will be having a gathering in Marian Hall between the 9 AM and 11 AM Masses next Sunday, June 30th to wish Fr. Jacob farewell. Join us to wish him the best in his ministry. Thanks for reading! Fr. Mark
