Dear Parishioners, In this month, we honor the Blessed Mother. This Sunday is also a day where we remember and honor our own mothers. We thank our moms and keep them in our hearts and prayers. May the Lord continue to bless all these moms who take care of us each day! As we reach Mother’s Day weekend, we also reach our second Sunday of our parish’s celebration of First Communion. The Easter Season truly reminds us of the gifts that the Sacraments bring to us and how they draw us closer to the Lord and help us enter into the Easter mystery. Thank you Lord, for giving us your precious Body and Blood! A special thanks to all our volunteers who have made our programs and activities such a success this past year (Faith Formation, donut crews, volunteers for the weekend Masses, choir members and cantors, Bible Study leaders, office volunteers, and many others). Our numbers and attendance at these events and programs have slowly come back after COVID times and continue to do so. Our Mass attendance is also increasing. Your help truly makes our parish a special place to be! As we wind down these programs for the school year, we look forward to a great summertime and especially our upcoming Vacation Bible School. The weather during the past few weeks hasn’t cooperated much to get our driveway paved after the drain pipes were replaced on the West side of Marian Hall. Maybe by the time this goes to print, there will be fresh asphalt and all the dirt will be gone! Just a reminder to pray for all the priests in the Diocese this coming week as we go on a special retreat for this year of Prayer and Renewal for our Priests. Also, keep our two seminarians in prayer for the next two weekends as one will be ordained as a transitional deacon next Saturday and on Memorial Day weekend, another as a priest for our Diocese. I appreciate all your support of the Bishop’s Annual Appeal. If you haven’t made your pledge yet to support the work and ministry of the Church throughout the Diocese of Kalamazoo, please prayerfully consider a pledge. Thanks for reading! Fr. Mark
