Dear Parishioners,
It’s Fall Fest weekend! Please join us, immediately after the 11 AM Mass, for our Parish Fall Fest. This is a free parish event and will be held in the Stanley Centre from noon until 2 PM this Sunday. Enjoy some food and games and a chance to visit with your fellow parishioners.
As we find ourselves ready to flip our calendars to the month of November, this Friday, November 1st is the Solemnity of All Saints Day, a Holy Day of Obligation. We will have a vigil Mass on the 31st at 7:00 PM and we will also have a morning Mass at 9:15 AM and an evening Mass at 7:00 PM on November 1st. As the saints have helped us grow in our own faith, may they continue to watch over us and help us through our daily journey of faith. Please join us for this annual celebration of faith.
All Soul’s Day is next Saturday. The morning Mass will be for this feast day, but the Saturday evening Mass will be the regular weekend Mass for the 31st Sunday in Ordinary time. It’s hard to believe that we are already at this point in the Church liturgical calendar! Our parish Remembrance Service, commemorating those who have gone before us in faith, will be on Tuesday, November 5th at 6:30 PM. All are welcome to join us to pray for our family members and friends, especially those we have lost in the past year.
Since it will be November soon, there will be some of you who start “praying” for snow! Don’t be too quick to do this in 2024! There are still a number of us who have experienced tornado or storm damage that want to get as much work done as we can on our houses before the winter weather really slows things down. Work continues on the rectory and Fr. Joseph and I are still hoping that we might be back living there by the end of the year.
Thanks for reading!
Fr. Mark
