Dear Parishioners, “All Hallow’s Eve” is an Old English name for the night before the Feast of All Saints. It reminds us that we have reached the end of October, and we are now ready for what the month of November will bring. The feast of All Saints Day is November 1, and there will be Mass. But this year, due to the way the calendar falls, we don’t celebrate it as much as we normally do (it is NOT a holy day of obligation in 2021) because it falls on a Monday. Even though we may not celebrate it as much this year, it still reminds us of how our spiritual lives revolve around the saints. They show us how they lived like Christ and how we can do the same. On Tuesday, All Souls Day, we remember in particular all those who have died in the past year and it’s a good way to remember and pray for those who are no longer with us from our families. Throughout this coming month, it’s a special time to pray for those who have died. I have been waiting for several months to announce that we are working on the final preparations for Marian Hall and it’s re-opening. To celebrate the completion of construction, Fr. Bill conveniently has an upcoming birthday celebration in November (don’t tell anyone that he’s going to be 80 years old on November 9). At the time that I am writing this, it looks like everything will be in place and we will have a celebration for Fr. Bill’s birthdaynext Sunday, November 7, between the 9:00 am and 11:00 am Masses. I will even make sure that the guest of honor will be there! I hope you can make it to celebrate with Fr. Bill either after the 9:00 am Mass or come a little early before the 11:00 am Mass begins. Thanks for reading! Fr. Mark
