Dear Parishioners,
Somehow, it’s already the month of October. We are truly in the season of Fall! Our construction crews are working hard to try to make sure that our outside work and rebuilding can finish up so that we can now work inside the rectory. For all of us that have experienced damage to our properties due to storms this year, many are thinking the same way.
This coming week, we will have our second Priest Convocation with Bishop Lohse. Last year, since Bishop Lohse had just arrived, it was just one day, and St. Catherine hosted it. This year, we are back to a normal schedule for convocation, and we will be gone for several days. We will be leaving to go out of town this Monday, the 7th of October, and will be back Thursday evening. Due to the Convocation of Priests, we will not have daily Mass on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week. Daily Mass will continue Monday and Friday of this week and one of our deacons will be available to have adoration and benediction at the normal times on Thursday the 10th.
Should there be an emergency, such as a parishioner in danger of death, please contact our office. There will be some priests that will be available to cover these situations, and our office staff will contact one of the priests that will be available in the Kalamazoo/Portage area for such an emergency.
Since Fr. Joseph and I will be gone this week, this is just a reminder, that if we have a parishioner that is homebound, and one of our deacons, priests, or home visitors from the parish are not visiting them on a regular basis, please let our office staff know so that we can arrange a visit or the Anointing of the Sick.
Thanks for reading!
Fr. Mark
