Dear Parishioners,
How will this Holy Week change your life? Are you ready to walk with Jesus as we listen and participate in the Passion Gospel this weekend? Will the palms that you take home with you this weekend help you to understand what the Lord did for us? Does the celebration of Holy Thursday remind you of the importance of the Eucharist in our lives as Catholics and what a gift this is? Are you ready to walk with Jesus though His Passion and death on Good Friday?
We always welcome the weekend we celebrate Easter. Most of the time, we are ready for Lent to end. Yet perhaps, this Lent 2025 has been good for us. It has helped us to renew our faith and our love for our Lord.
I encourage you to join us for all the many liturgies of Holy Week. Our priests will be renewing our priestly commitment on Tuesday afternoon at the Chrism Mass with Bishop Lohse. The new oils for celebrating the Sacraments at Easter and in the coming year will be blessed by the Bishop and distributed to the parishes.
As we enter the Triduum, the holiest 3 days of the year, please remember that our schedule for Masses is much different. There are NOT any daily morning Masses on Holy Thursday and Good Friday or Holy Saturday morning. Please join us on Thursday evening at 7 PM for the celebration of our Lord’s Supper (followed by a time of Adoration) and on Good Friday, beginning at 1 PM, for the Lord’s Passion. Our final Stations of the Cross (no Lenten talk) will be at 7 PM on Good Friday. The Easter vigil celebrates the Sacraments and is the first Mass of Easter. Also, please note that we change the time for the first Mass on Easter morning to 7 AM. We do this so that there is no overlap between the first two Masses of Easter. We conclude our Easter celebration with the 11 AM Mass on Easter morning. Please note that there is NO evening Mass at 5 PM on Easter Sunday. Please join us for our celebration of Easter.
So, now we begin this journey with Jesus. May our faith be renewed and grow during this coming week.
Thanks for reading!
