Dear Parishioners,
What kind of labor does God intend for us to do? Parent? Grandparent? Priest or Religious? Single person? Student? There are a lot of different things that our Lord could be calling us to do. On this Labor Day weekend, we take a break from our normal routine and have a little time to reflect on this. Most of the time in life, our labors and the things that we do define us and give us a sense of purpose in life. But whatever labor the Lord calls us to do in our lifetime, we also pause this weekend and ask the Lord to bless us in our daily work.
Once we reach Labor Day, we know that many of the warm days of summer are now behind us and that the season of Fall is slowly creeping up on us. Hopefully, we will have good weather in the weeks ahead so that all of us who are continuing to rebuild after the tornado and the storms these past few months can put our houses and businesses back together before the weather turns. We are truly thankful for the volunteers and construction workers who have helped us to put things back together. May the Lord continue to bless all of us as we continue to recover from all these storms and let us give thanks that there was no loss of life during all of these storms.
Next weekend, it’s time for our annual Parish Picnic on September 8th! Please join us for food, fun, and games immediately following the 11 AM Mass in and around the Stanley Centre. Rain or shine, we will have a place for you! Bring your appetite and come and enjoy yourself!
