Please meet the Righter Family! If you frequently attend our Sunday 5 pm Mass, these smiling faces are sure to look familiar to you. This family of six is "all hands-on deck" at the mass as they volunteer as Ushers. Dedicated to ensuring the mass runs smoothly from start to finish, they are welcoming, helpful and a pleasure to worship alongside. Parents Jim and Julie both attended Western Michigan University and have been in the Kalamazoo area ever since. Siblings Morgan (18), Meredith (16), Marley (13), and Matt (10), all attend Portage Public Schools where they stay very active with track, swimming, basketball, soccer, golf and wrestling. Jim is a football coach for the Portage Central Mustangs. The Righter kids also attend Faith Formation classes here at St. Catherines. Jim and Julie joined our parish to be active in a family-based church with lots of family-friendly offerings. Worshiping through music and song within the mass is enjoyed by the family, and they always like seeing lots of their friends in attendance as well. Volunteering has been a great lesson for the Righter kids, they have learned how important serving others is. Volunteering has given the family the opportunity to get to know others in the parish and to find joy in sharing a common belief with others in the community. TheRighters are a wonderful example of how volunteering as a family can be enjoyable and spiritually strengthening. Thank you to the Righters for all you do!
