Please welcome back our St. Catherine of Siena Choir! Our spotlight this week features not just one parishioner, but a group of talented, dedicated, and inspirational volunteers here at the church: our choir! Our music ministry is a big part of what makes St. Catherine's so special and we are blessed to have the ministry led by a new director, Michelle Clemens. Michelle's welcoming, positive, and fun energy is one of the reasons new choir member Nan Haring was drawn to join, "Everyone is so nice, and we have fun while making beautiful music! We get to sing our prayers! I’m looking forward to singing at the [Masses] and at Christmas. I’m sure hearing all the parishioners singing along will be very moving." Another reason Nan was drawn to join the choir is her good friend and fellow parishioner, Bev Rindler. Bev has been a member of the choir for 30 years and had a lovely description of what the choir has meant to her over the years, "Singing lifts my spirits, it makes my heart happy, and it is a gift to the Lord. It’s more than making music or preparing a song for Mass. It is what it feels like when our voices come together, when we blend, when we listen to each other – it is a spiritual experience that is hard to describe. We have a lot of fun in the choir, I like that we have some good laughs, it’s just a cool group!"Our choir invites everyone and anyone to join, don't feel like you have to sing like Pavarotti! The choir will fill your spiritual cup all while making friends and making memories. Bev recounts her most memorable experience in choir has been singing at Fr. Ben’s first Mass after he was ordained in June of 2013. We hope everyone in the congregation enjoys the choir and appreciates all the hard work this amazing group puts into their craft. Thank you, St. Catherine’s Choir! We are so glad to have you back.
