May has traditionally been observed as a month dedicated to Mary, Mother of God. It is also the month in which we celebrate our earthly mothers. Mother’s Day provides a beautiful opportunity to pray for all mothers. However, it can be a difficult holiday for many, including those struggling with infertility, those who have lost children, those who are facing an unexpected pregnancy, and those who have lost their own mothers. Respect Life Ministry would like to help honor mothers on May 1 after the 11:00 am Mass. Weather permitting, we will gather outside in the Mary Garden for a special prayer led by Father Ben. Flowers will be available before and after Mass for family members to write a prayer intention on an attached tag. Then we will precess to Our Lady to submit our offerings. The different flower colors signify: Yellow=waiting to conceive or adopt, Pink=pregnancy, Red=recent birth or adoption, White=loss of a child. We will leave this colorful bouquet outside for the week to serve as a visual reminder of the powerful intercession and love of Mary, Our Mother. Please join us for this event and a special time of prayer to celebrate all mothers and our Blessed Mother, Mary.
