We are thrilled to announce George Dragan, currently the Associate Director, Office of Evangelization and Catechesis Secretariat for Parish and Lay Leadership from the Diocese of Kalamazoo, has accepted our position of Director of Faith Formation here at St. Catherine’s. This position will unite all Faith Formation (pre-K to adult) classes and events as much as possible. With the help of volunteers and staff (yet to be hired), we will do our best to make our parish a community walking the journey to Christ together. We are fortunate to have George helping lead us on this new path. George comes with over 30 years of Faith Formation and catechetical experience at every age and level, including RCIA. He holds a Master of Arts in Theology from Oblate College in Washington, D.C. which he earned while studying for three years as a Ukrainian rite seminarian at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Seminary in Washington D.C. and remaining as a lay student for a fourth year before discerning marriage. George is also a 1986 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, a 2008 graduate of the United Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the United States Marine Corps Forces Reserve. He and his wife, Becky, are residents of Kalamazoo and have 11 children together. They still have six children at home. He is ready and excited to accept the challenge of connecting our faith formation groups.
