We are looking for anyone who is interested in knitting prayer shawls, baby afghans, mittens, neck scarves, and knit caps. We have been asked to assist in helping the homeless stay warm as the cold weather approaches. If you can knit and have time to knit for the needy, we have yarn for you to use. We have also been asked to assist young mothers by providing baby blankets. Again, we can provide the yarn! If you are already a member of our prayer shawl weavers group, we could certainly use more prayer shawls. We will be supplying them for the sick, those in nursing homes, and those in need of comfort. Thank you in advance for considering this ministry. Please reach out to Marianne at mverner@stcatherinesiena.org with any questions.

Due to COVID-19, most of our current parish programs are currently suspended through August 2020. Daily Mass (Monday through Friday), weekend Masses, and “drive-in” Confessions are held each week (please see the calendar below for details). We have not yet made any decisions about programming beyond August 2020, but hope to be able to do so soon. We know that Sacramental programs such as Children’s Faith Formation, Confirmation preparation, and RCIA will continue in some form, and Sacraments like First Communion and Confirmation (previously scheduled for Spring 2020) will be rescheduled soon. Please like/follow us on Facebook and continue to check our website for additional updates as we learn more. Thank you for your patience during these unusual times!
St. Catherine’s is very blessed to have a group of volunteers to help weave Prayer Shawls for parishioners in need. Each shawl is prayed over before working on the shawl and after it is finished. When completed, the shawl is given to a Parishioner experiencing a particularly difficult time and in need of prayer. Volunteers knit our Prayer Shawls on their own time. When meetings are allowed at the church again, they will meet periodically as a group. We are always looking for volunteers willing to help with this ministry. If you’re interested, please contact our Front Office at 327-5165 or email us at FrontDesk@stcatherinesiena.org to learn more or sign up to volunteer.
