Alpha helps our parish foster personal encounters and relationships with Jesus through the power and ministry of the Holy Spirit. Often this experience acts as a catalyst for people to grow as disciples. Through the simple model used on Alpha for prayer ministry, people learn how to pray for one another and it becomes a normal part of life in the parish. Below we have a personal testimonial from St. Catherine's Parishioner, Joe, on his experience with the Alpha program. For more information about Alpha or to register for the next session of Alpha (begins in late-January 2021), please visit our website: http://www.stcatherinesiena.org/alpha. "I attended the 2019 Alpha session at St Catherine's. It was a great experience. The number one reason I signed up was to get closer to God and this was certainly achieved. The videos were professionally done, included references to the Bible, and provided thoughtful reflection. As a new member of St Catherine's and the Portage area, the second reason I signed up was to meet people who share my faith. This also was achieved. Each session provided time to talk and get to know other participants. Some of them I can now call friends. I encourage everyone to give Alpha a try." -Joe, St. Catherine's Parishioner
